ASABA/Nigeria: Chief Ighoyota Amori, a former senator and Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has been praised for his long-standing involvement in the state’s political and public affairs as he marks his 74th birthday.

Governor Oborevwori, in a birthday message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, on Saturday, said Amori’s experience in politics and public service had continued to make him relevant to governance and political development in Delta.

The governor particularly pointed to Amori’s role in the Delta Central 2023 (DC-23) political lobby group, where he provided leadership during the political mobilisation that preceded the 2023 elections.

According to Oborevwori, Amori’s political experience and understanding of the state’s political landscape had contributed to his continued relevance in public affairs.

The governor also acknowledged Amori’s involvement in community development and other public-service activities over the years, saying his 74th birthday provided an opportunity to reflect on his contributions to Delta State.

“Your years of dedicated service to God, Delta State and humanity are worthy of commendation,” Oborevwori said, while also acknowledging Amori’s consistency and commitment to public service.

He wished the celebrant continued good health, peace and fulfilment, and prayed for more years in which he could contribute to society.
