Oborevwori Mourns Former Delta Military Administrator, Walter Feghabo

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Military Administrator of Delta State, Commander Walter Feghabo (Rtd), describing his death as a profound loss to the Ijaw Nation, Delta State, and Nigeria as a whole.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori commiserated with the government and people of Bayelsa State, the Nembe Kingdom, and the family of the late Feghabo, noting that the nation has lost a disciplined officer, patriotic leader, and true son of the Niger Delta.

Commander Feghabo, who also served as the first Military Administrator of Ebonyi State before his appointment in Delta, was credited with laying strong governance foundations and initiating critical infrastructural and agricultural development projects that shaped the state’s early years.

“Commander Feghabo brought to public service the same discipline, focus, and integrity that defined his military career,” Governor Oborevwori said. “As Military Administrator of Delta State, he demonstrated unwavering commitment to inclusive leadership, peace, and sustainable development. His contributions remain an enduring part of our state’s legacy.”

The Governor also paid tribute to Feghabo’s continued service to his people in traditional leadership, particularly as Alternate Chairman of the Nembe Chiefs Council under the leadership of His Majesty, King Edmund Daukoru, Mingi XII, Amanyanabo of Nembe Kingdom.

Oborevwori urged the late Feghabo’s family and the people of Nembe to find comfort in the knowledge that he lived a life of honour, integrity, and service to God and humanity.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, the Nembe Kingdom, the Ijaw Nation, and the government of Bayelsa State,” the Governor said. “Commander Feghabo will be remembered with respect and gratitude for his leadership and contributions to national development. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
