Oghenesivbe Hails Guwor as Model Legislative Leader, Youth Icon After National Election

ASABA/Nigeria: The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has praised the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, describing him as a distinguished legislative leader and a shining role model for Nigerian youths in an era of renewed national hope.

Oghenesivbe made the commendation on Tuesday in a congratulatory message following Guwor’s election as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, describing the Speaker as a consummate leader with deep knowledge and mastery of legislative responsibilities.

According to the Bureau DG, the Delta State House of Assembly has recorded remarkable achievements under Guwor’s leadership in less than three years, particularly in the areas of lawmaking, oversight and the promotion of constitutional order. He noted that laws enacted during the period have significantly advanced development, strengthened peace and security, and enhanced effective governance across the state.

Oghenesivbe further attributed the strong synergy between the Executive and the Legislature in Delta State to the shared commitment of both arms of government to the progress of the state, resulting in what he described as uncommon breakthroughs in governance. He commended Speaker Guwor for his selfless service, humility, openness and transparent leadership style.

He emphasised that the Speaker’s impressive track record underscores the capacity of young leaders to excel in governance, adding that Guwor’s performance earned him national recognition by the National Association of Nigerian Students, which honoured him with the award of “Most Outstanding Speaker and Humanitarian Champion.”

The Director-General stated that Guwor’s emergence as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria has further elevated Delta State’s profile nationally, positioning the state as a benchmark for legislative excellence across the federation.

Oghenesivbe urged the Speaker to remain a worthy ambassador of Delta State in his new national role and to leave a lasting legacy during and beyond his tenure, while also expressing appreciation to the leadership and members of the Delta State House of Assembly for their patriotism and selfless commitment to legislative duties.
