ASABA/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has received warm congratulations on his emergence as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, with the appointment described as a fitting recognition of his leadership credentials and legislative acumen.
In a congratulatory message, the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties, Government House, Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, said Guwor’s elevation reflects the deep trust and confidence reposed in him by his colleagues across the federation, who, he noted, recognise his capacity for consensus building, institutional strengthening and progressive parliamentary engagement.
Dr. Osuoza described the emergence of the Delta Speaker as a strong affirmation of his distinguished leadership style, sound legislative judgement and unwavering dedication to democratic ideals, adding that the development places Delta State in a position of pride within the nation’s legislative landscape.
According to him, Guwor’s new role signals a fresh phase of purposeful coordination and cooperation among state legislatures, at a time when inter-parliamentary collaboration is critical to deepening democracy and strengthening governance at the sub-national level.
He noted that the Speaker’s track record of diligence, fairness and administrative clarity positions him well to provide visionary leadership to the Conference, particularly in advancing reforms that will enhance legislative independence and effectiveness across the country.
Dr. Osuoza expressed optimism that Guwor’s tenure would be marked by innovation, unity of purpose and impactful reforms that would further strengthen Nigeria’s legislative institutions.
He wished the new Chairman continued wisdom, strength and outstanding success as he assumes what he described as an important national responsibility in shaping the future of state legislatures in Nigeria.
