UGHELLI/Nigeria: A two-time former commissioner in Delta State, Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, has expressed optimism that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa will usher in an Urhobo born Delta State governor in 2023 just as the biblical John The Baptist ushered Jesus Christ based on the unwritten gentleman agreement of rotation of the governorship seat in the state.
Dr Okorodudu who spoke with our correspondent in a media chat at a public function at Otu Jeremi recently, explained that his optimism was based on his confidence that Governor Okowa would be victorious in the forthcoming Delta State governorship election.
He urged the Urhobo people to give their total support to governor Okowa in the March 2nd 2019 governorship election in order to actualize the Urhobo dream of producing Delta State governor in 2023.
While describing Governor Okowa as the best governorship candidate in the Delta State gubernatorial contest, the Okpare-Olomu born politician, asserted that Governor Okowa’s numerous laudable achievements in all sectors of the economy across the state in three and half years, had earned him a second tenure in office.
Dr Okorodudu expressed appreciation to Governor Okowa over the construction of the multi billion naira Ovwor/Effurun Otor Bridge which he said had been an age-long dream of the Ovwor-Olomu and Effurun – Otor people of Ughelli South Local Government Area.
