KWALE/Nigeria: Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, has urged voters in Ndokwa and across the country to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, citing federal economic reforms and infrastructure projects in Delta State as reasons for another APC mandate.

Onyeme made the appeal on Saturday at Kwale during the launch of the APC Top-Bottom Support Group, established by former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai, to mobilise support for the party’s candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

The deputy governor argued that the Tinubu administration’s economic policies had created opportunities for increased public spending and development, urging Nigerians to give the president another term to continue his reform programme.

He also called on voters in Delta State to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, saying its development projects were reaching communities across the state.

Focusing on Ndokwa, Onyeme listed the sustainable electricity project, a proposed multi-billion-naira bridge to improve access to Akarai, the Ndemili-Utagba-Uno Road, Utagba-Uno-Eweshi Road, Inam Abbi Road and Emu-Ashaka Road among the projects he said deserved recognition.

He maintained that the federal government’s economic policies had increased allocations available to state and local governments, providing them with additional resources to execute projects and meet salary obligations.

According to Onyeme, returning Tinubu to office would allow the administration to continue its reform programme and pursue further development initiatives.

Former Delta State Governor and APC Delta North senatorial candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, also canvassed support for Tinubu and other APC candidates, although the account of the event did not provide detailed quotations from his address.

Other party figures at the launch included APC Delta North Senatorial District chairman, Engineer Dan Ossai; member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi; and the APC candidate for Ndokwa West State Constituency, Chief Princewill Olie.

Earlier, Ossai said the support group was established to mobilise votes for all APC candidates, describing Okowa as a political mentor whose political campaigns he intended to support.

He also cited relationships among key political leaders in Delta State and the history of senatorial representation among the Delta North ethnic blocs as reasons for backing the party’s candidates.

Ossai argued that Ndokwa should support Okowa’s senatorial ambition, saying the area had previously benefited from the representation of Senator Patrick Osakwe. He maintained that political cooperation was necessary to secure the party’s desired electoral outcome.

The former lawmaker urged his supporters to vote for all APC candidates, using the expression “APC 5/5” to promote support for the party across the relevant contests.

The Kwale event reflects the APC’s efforts to consolidate its political structure and mobilise grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections. However, the development claims presented by party leaders remain campaign arguments, and voters will ultimately assess the administration’s record against their own experiences of infrastructure delivery, electricity supply, employment and the cost of living.
