The defection of Hon Azuka Azaka has resulted in the death of a youth from Utagba Uno in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State. According to our source a fight broke out among the youths after a well-known politician who attended the occasion of the decamping of the Honourable member representing Ndokwa West Local Government Area, in the State House of Assembly from DPP to PDP in Utagba Uno on the 3 of January, 2014 gave the youths some money to share.
Our correspondent who was at the event and the reception at Hon Azuka’s country home reported that at a point he observed the youths were becoming unruly because of the sharing of the money, which led to the stabbing of a youth identified as Orji from the home town of the defecting Honourable outside the premises, by another youth named Egwornor from Umusadage quarters in Utagba Ogbe.
After the stabbing, Orji was rushed to the hospital and the youths of Utagba Uno descended on Egwornor beating him and destroying the wind screen of his car which was parked at the gate of the Honourable.
Our correspondent who was still in the town, later learnt that the vehicle was pushed away to about 500 meters from the Honourable’s resident to allow for vehicular movement in and out of the premises. However, when the news of the death of Orji filtered into town the youths of Utagba Uno descended and burnt down the car, while the suspect, who was rescued by detachment of men of Nigerian Army from Kwale was taken to the police station where he is presently in detention.
Ndokwa Reporters was also informed by reliable source that the suspect had been a political thug for a very long time; the incident may not just be the money but most likely old issues among the youths.
