
KWALE/Nigeria: The Umuseti community in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State has celebrated one of its daughters, Miss Ogwu Precious Chidinma, following her graduation with First Class Honours in Law from the Department of Commercial and Industrial Law, Faculty of Law, University of Port Harcourt.
Precious, daughter of Mr. Festus Ogwu Emi of the Umu Edem family, Port Harcourt, attained the academic distinction during the university’s 36th Convocation Ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic session, drawing widespread commendation from family members, community leaders and well-wishers.
Her achievement has been described as a reflection of discipline, resilience, intellectual excellence and unwavering commitment to academic success in one of the nation’s most demanding professional fields.
Leading the celebration, the Umu Ezeti Global Connect Initiative, a platform established to connect Umuseti sons and daughters across the world, promote the community’s cultural heritage and celebrate excellence among its people, applauded the young graduate for bringing honour and recognition to Umuseti.
Speaking on behalf of the initiative, its Coordinator, Ambassador Chuks Ododo, described the First Class degree as a remarkable accomplishment that should inspire young people within and beyond the community to pursue excellence in their chosen fields.
According to him, Precious’ academic feat was not merely a personal achievement but a source of pride for her family and the entire Umuseti community.
“Your First Class degree is not merely an academic achievement; it is evidence of determination, sacrifice, discipline and an unwavering belief in your abilities. You have made your family, Umu Edem and the entire Umuseti community proud. Continue to pursue excellence with the same passion and commitment. The future is bright, and greater accomplishments await you,” Ododo said.
He further urged young people to embrace hard work, perseverance and continuous learning, noting that sustainable success can only be achieved through dedication and integrity.
“There is no substitute for hard work and no shortcut to sustainable achievement. The success of Precious Chidinma reminds us that excellence remains possible for those who are willing to put in the effort. Let her story inspire every young person to dream big, stay focused and work diligently towards their goals,” he added.
Members of the community described the achievement as a testament to the immense potential of Umuseti youths and a reminder that excellence remains attainable through determination and hard work.
They noted that Precious’ success has further enhanced the reputation of the community as a home to talented, ambitious and accomplished sons and daughters making meaningful contributions in various professions across Nigeria and beyond.
