ABUJA/Nigeria: The Urhobo Consultative Forum (UCF) has congratulated Ede Dafinone on his appointment as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs, describing the elevation as well-deserved and reflective of his track record in public service.
In a statement signed by the Urhobo Consultative Forum (UCF), the group noted that the appointment, conferred by Godswill Akpabio, underscores the senator’s leadership capacity, integrity, and commitment to national development.
The Forum described the development as not only a personal milestone for Senator Dafinone but also a moment of pride for the Urhobo Nation and the Delta Central Senatorial District, expressing confidence in his ability to uphold the principles of fairness, equity, and balanced representation in national affairs.
According to the UCF, the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs occupies a critical position in Nigeria’s governance structure, requiring strategic leadership to foster cooperation among tiers of government and ensure inclusive implementation of federal policies.
The group expressed optimism that under Dafinone’s leadership, the committee would strengthen intergovernmental collaboration while promoting transparency and measurable impact in the application of the Federal Character principle across the federation.
Reaffirming its commitment to the progress and unity of the Urhobo people, the Forum pledged its continued support to the senator as he undertakes the national assignment, while offering prayers for wisdom, strength, and success in the discharge of his duties.
