WARRI/Nigeria: The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Warri Federal Constituency, Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade, PhD, has expressed appreciation to delegates, party faithful and supporters for the overwhelming support that earned him victory in the party’s primary election held in Delta State.
Mulade, an environmental rights activist and peace advocate, conveyed his gratitude in a statement personally signed by him, describing his emergence as the party’s standard-bearer as a clear demonstration of the confidence, trust and acceptance reposed in him by the people of Warri Federal Constituency.
He said the outcome of the primary election reflects the collective desire of the people for inclusive leadership, grassroots-oriented representation and renewed commitment to addressing the developmental challenges confronting communities within the constituency.
According to him, the victory is not a personal achievement but a mandate belonging to every resident who believes in good governance, unity, equity and sustainable development.
“I deeply appreciate all those who participated in the electoral process, especially the delegates, supporters and well-wishers who stood firmly behind my aspiration. Your support, trust and confidence mean a great deal to me,” Mulade stated.
The NDC candidate noted that he remains humbled by the mandate entrusted to him and pledged to provide effective, responsive and people-centred representation if elected in the forthcoming general election.
He stressed the need for stronger collaboration among the three major ethnic nationalities in the constituency—the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo—saying that the future growth and stability of Warri Federal Constituency depend on peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and inclusiveness.
Mulade called on political stakeholders, community leaders and residents to set aside differences and work together for the collective advancement of the constituency.
He maintained that every community deserves a voice in governance and every citizen should have an equal opportunity to benefit from development initiatives.
“I dedicate this victory to God Almighty and all the people of Warri Federal Constituency whom I seek to serve. This mandate is a call to greater responsibility, and I assure you that I will not let you down. Together, we shall build a constituency where every community has a voice and every citizen has a stake in our collective progress,” he said.
Mulade further urged members of the NDC and his supporters to remain united and focused as the party prepares for the next phase of the electoral process.
He emphasized that sustaining victory at the polls would require commitment, solidarity and a shared vision aimed at transforming Warri Federal Constituency into a model of peace, development and inclusive governance.
The peace advocate reaffirmed his commitment to carrying all segments of the constituency along, promising to champion policies and programmes that would promote economic growth, environmental sustainability and improved living conditions for the people.
