Warri NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel Celebrates Former Chairman Victor Okpomor on Birthday

WARRI/Nigeria: Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, have paid glowing tribute to their immediate past Chairman, Mr. Victor Okpomor, as he marks his birthday, describing his leadership as one that strengthened the chapel’s unity and professional standing.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the chapel, Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire, and the Secretary, Edeki Igafe, the union expressed gratitude to God for granting Okpomor another year of life and celebrated his contributions to journalism and the growth of the chapel.

The chapel noted that Okpomor’s tenure was marked by purposeful leadership, institutional development and a commitment to members’ welfare, qualities it said continue to influence the organisation’s direction.

It also credited the former chairman with fostering stronger relationships between the chapel and key stakeholders, including security agencies and other professional bodies, while promoting greater cohesion within the journalism community in Delta State.

Describing him as a respected media professional and mentor, the chapel commended his dedication to strengthening ethical journalism and advancing the interests of members throughout his time in office.

The union prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and wisdom for the celebrant, expressing hope that the years ahead would bring him greater fulfilment, peace and opportunities for continued service to society.

“Your leadership left a lasting impact on the chapel and contributed significantly to its institutional growth. As you celebrate another year, we wish you good health, enduring happiness and continued success in all your endeavours,” the statement said.
