LG Polls: Iyede, Ogbon Throws Weights Behind PDP Candidates

UGHELLI/Nigeria: The Patron of Team Ibori for Okowa 2019, Mr. innocent Iyede, has described the Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the January 6, 2018 local government election in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Mr. Godwin Adode, as a man of the people who the cap fits to run the affairs of the council.

Mr. Iyede, a House of Assembly aspirant for Ughelli North constituency I seat in the 2019 general election, stated this on Tuesday during the official presentation of PDP flag to Mr. Adode by the state Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, at Ughelli.

Describing the campaign flag-off ceremony as awesome, he appreciated the party’s delegates in the local government for deeming it fit to nominate him as the candidate.

At Ughelli South, where the flag was also  presented to the Chairmanship candidate, Dr. Richard Kofi, same day, the Patron of the group, Prince Sony Ogbon, while addressing press, said that Dr. Kofi is a vibrant, vocal and intellectual politician that can run the affairs of the council with peace and without acrimony since he has known him for years.

He assured that come January 6, 2018, the Chairmanship candidate and all the Councillorship candidates will be elected into power with massive votes.

The State Coordinator of Team Ibori for Okowa 2019, Hon. Edmond Guanah, during the ceremonies, attended by several members of the group, said that he was overwhelmed by the large turnout of party faithful who came to witness the campaign  flag-off ceremonies.

He stated that the over 5000 All Progressives Congress (APC) members who decamped to the PDP are welcome back to their roots as they will not be accepted as strangers but as members of the PDP family.

Hon. Guanah added that with mammoth crowd that graced the two ceremonies, the reelection of Senator Okowa in 2019 is a forgone conclusion.

Members of the group who were in attendance are the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation,  Deacon Onoriode Efekemo, former House of Assembly aspirant from Ughelli South,  Mr. Mathew Oji, Hon. Itojeh  from Ughelli South, among many others.
