EFFURUN/Nigeria: The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has charged newly inaugurated executives of the Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie (OSU) Federal Constituency Political Forum, Uvwie Chapter, to immediately embark on aggressive grassroots mobilisation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dafinone gave the charge during the inauguration ceremony held at Alegbo Primary School in Uvwie Local Government Area, where he expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would emerge victorious in the forthcoming polls, citing ongoing economic reforms under the Tinubu administration as clear indicators of purposeful and decisive leadership.
The lawmaker noted that President Tinubu assumed office at a time of significant economic fragility but has since taken bold and necessary steps to stabilise the system. He identified the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange regime as critical interventions that have curtailed systemic leakages and repositioned the nation’s economy for sustainable growth. He described the President as the “most prepared and qualified” leader elected by Nigerians in recent times.
On developments in Delta State, Dafinone commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as visible and impactful governance, stressing that the administration has delivered meaningful development across key sectors. He argued that the governor’s performance justifies continuity, urging party faithful to remain united in advancing the M.O.R.E Agenda at the grassroots level.
He also praised the National Coordinator of the OSU Forum, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, for his role in fostering unity, strengthening political structures, and promoting inclusiveness within the constituency.
At the event, Ighrakpata formally inaugurated the Uvwie Chapter executives led by Anthony Ofoni, tasking them with the responsibility of mobilising massive support to secure victory for both President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori in 2027.
In his acceptance speech, Ofoni pledged to provide inclusive, proactive and results-driven leadership, assuring that his team would engage all wards in Uvwie Local Government Area to galvanise support and ensure electoral success for the APC at both the federal and state levels.
The well-attended ceremony drew notable political stakeholders, including Efe Uko, Kingsley Esiso, Edafe Emakpor, James Augoye, Perkins Umukoro, and Evelyn Oboro, alongside youth groups and other party faithful, reflecting growing political momentum within the constituency.
