Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone

OSUBI/Nigeria: Senator Ede Dafinone has received an endorsement from the Go Deltans Youth Movement for the 2027 Delta Central Senatorial District election, as the group declared its support for his continued representation and pledged to mobilise voters ahead of the general elections.

The endorsement was announced on Sunday at Osubi, in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, where the movement also endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election, alongside Hon. Ramson Onoyake for the Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency and Hon. James Augoye for Okpe State Constituency.

In a joint declaration titled “Renewed Hope for Nigeria, MORE Agenda for Delta State,” the group expressed support for continuity in government and announced its readiness to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 polls.

The movement’s leader, Comrade Matthew Amerika, said the endorsements reflected the group’s assessment of the leadership and development efforts of the political officeholders it had chosen to support.

Although much of the address focused on the performance of the Delta State Government, the endorsement places Dafinone among the political figures the movement intends to support as the contest for elective offices approaches.

Amerika commended Oborevwori for what he described as progress under the administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, particularly in infrastructure, education and employment generation.

He cited road, bridge and flyover projects at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction in the Warri area, as well as the Otovwodo Junction flyover in Ughelli and the Uromi Junction project in Agbor.

The youth leader said the projects had contributed to development across different parts of the state and expressed the movement’s determination to support the governor’s re-election bid.

A professional carpenter, Mr Godwin Idama, who also spoke at the gathering, highlighted the employment opportunities he said had emerged from ongoing construction projects.

Idama explained that infrastructure development had provided work for artisans, including carpenters and other skilled workers, enabling them to earn income through their trades.

The group maintained that its mobilisation efforts would extend to young people and other supporters as it works towards securing electoral victories for the candidates it has endorsed.

Its declaration linked the endorsements to continuity, development and the advancement of the interests of residents in Delta State and Nigerians more broadly.

For Dafinone, the endorsement represents a public expression of support from the youth movement ahead of the 2027 contest for Delta Central, although the declaration alone does not establish the broader level of support he commands across the senatorial district.

The coming months will provide further opportunities for political parties, community organisations and voters to assess the candidates and their respective records, programmes and proposals before making their choices at the polls.
