Delta State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama, SAN, has stated that one way of ensuring a crime free society is to resolve the excess we have in favour of the less privilege in the society.
Prof. Utuama who stated this recently at the New Year Party Cum Thanksgiving of Sapele Pacesetters Social Club of Nigeria, in Sapele, commended members of Pacesetters club for their humanitarian services to the society,
noting that the club has an enviable socio economic objective of uplifting one other and also uplifting the poor and less privilege in the society.
According to him; “Indeed pacesetters is a very noble objective, I wonder what will be the worth of life if it does not impact on another person, it will almost be meaningless. So, as pacesetters you are not only topping the lives of each other but also extending your charitable works to the less privilege in the society. In fact by so doing, you are really doing justice to humanity”.
The deputy governor asserted further; “All that you are doing is to resolve the excess you have in favour of the less advantage in our society. I believe this is one of the ways in ensuring that we live in a crime free society. We should live in a place of peace that will enable all of us to achieve our ultimate goal in life”.
Prof. Utuama urged other social clubs in the society to emulate such great ventures of humanitarian services, adding that by so doing they are keying into the three point agenda of the Uduaghan’s administration and thereby consolidating on gains of democracy.
Earlier, in an address, the President of Sapele Pacesetters Social Club, Mr. Eugene Inoaghan, noted that the club which was formed in 2002 provides the forum for social interaction of members and foster friendship, unity and fraternity.
He asserted that the name itself “pacesetters”, is to be your brother’s keeper, and it goes to explain our motive of peace to all Nigerians, provided you have the mind of giving to the less privilege.
He advised the youths in society to work hard, saying that it is hard work that will take them to the next level. “We know things are difficult economically, but with the government in place, we are starting gradually. The youths should be empowered through agriculture, and this will make them to be gainfully employed”. He stated.
