Bomadi LG Assembly Leader, others impeached

The Leader of the Bomadi Legislative Assembly, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, Zidideke Bebebor, has been impeached.
Also impeached were Deputy Leader, Sylvia Mietoru-Omi, Majority Leader, Lawyer Akpodise and Innocent Akpoyibo.
Impeachment proceedings were carried out after Labo Clifford Fun-Akpo representing Ward 10, nominated Mulade Yerindideke as Protem Leader, which was seconded by Bekes Pretonbofa and supported by 12 members out of the 19-member Assembly, some of whom were absent.
Addressing the House, Protem Leader, Yerindideke thanked members for the gesture and said due to the crisis rocking the Assembly which had plunged the council into chaos as a result of incompetent and corrupt leadership, he therefore, declared the leadership unfit.
Pretonbofa however, moved a motion for the impeachment of the Leader of the House, Bebebor, for gross misconduct, incompetence and corruption, which motion was seconded by Ebiowei Enisah and supported by 13 members and the Protem leader declared the seat vacant.
The House also declared vacant the seats of the Deputy Leader, the Majority Leader and Deputy Whip after their removal for same offences, with three months suspension without pay.
