LAGOS/Nigeria: In a prestigious ceremony held in Lagos on Friday, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) inducted the Director-General, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, alongside 37 other distinguished individuals, into the esteemed Fellowship category of the council.
The newly honored Fellows represent a cohort of accomplished professionals within the advertising and marketing communication industry, recognized for their unwavering commitment, dedication, and exemplary conduct in advancing the field of advertising and marketing communications.
Dr. Fadolapo, expressing his sentiments to reporters during the induction event, highlighted the added responsibility and dedication demanded by ARCON’s fellowship. He emphasized the need to further promote and uphold the standards of advertising practices in Nigeria, citing his membership and fellowship in several professional bodies.
Chairman of the 2023 Fellowship Screening Committee, Chief Emmanuel Ajufo, underscored the meticulousness of the selection process for the new Fellows, outlining the criteria of a minimum 15-year tenure coupled with a demonstrable commitment to the advertising and marketing communication sector.
Ajufo emphasized ARCON’s anticipation for the newly inducted Fellows to maintain exemplary conduct and professionalism in all their engagements, affirming the council’s expectations.
Mr. Tunji Adeyinka, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the 2023 National Advertising Conference, spoke on behalf of the inductees, expressing humility in the company of such esteemed mentors and colleagues who have significantly distinguished themselves in the industry.
Acknowledging the diligence of the Fellowship Committee, led by Chief Emmanuel Ajufo, Adeyinka encouraged all council members to participate in the upcoming December National Advertising Conference, underscoring its significance in the industry.
The pivotal moment of the induction ceremony involved the administration of the induction oath to the newly conferred Fellows, cementing their commitment to upholding the principles and standards of ARCON.
Among the 37 individuals inducted alongside Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo were notable names such as Joe-Eugene Onyenyili-Onuorah, Chidindu Chiddy Charity Ibiam, Yusuf Mu’azu, and Hauwa Margaret Nimyel, among others, all recognized for their invaluable contributions to the advertising and marketing communication field.
