Delta NIPR Members Charged To Embrace Teamwork For Effective Service Delivery

ASABA/Nigeria: Members of the Delta State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) have been charged to work as a team and not as individuals in order to achieve the institute’s objectives.

This charge was given by a council member of the institute, Thelma Okoh, during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Annual Public Lecture of the chapter, held at the Multipurpose Hall, Maryam Babangida Leisure Park, Asaba, Delta State. The event, which featured the election of new Executive Council (EXCO) members, was held under the theme: “Environmental Stewardship for Sustainable Housing Development in Delta State.”

In her address, Mrs. Okoh enjoined the newly elected EXCO members to be selfless in their service, show respect for the opinions of members, and prioritize teamwork for effective delivery of the institute’s mandates.

She emphasized that the benefits of public relations are numerous, with one of its core purposes being to foster cordial relationships, provide a platform for networking, and help build and sustain a positive reputation.

The election produced Godfrey Osakwe as Chairman, Florence Nwabuonwu as Vice Chairman,  Emmanuel Enebeli as Secretary and Ese Obote-Ogwu as Assistant Secretary. Others elected were Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe as Public Relations Executive,  Judith Kuejubola as Treasurer, Boniface Nzesi as Financial Secretary, and Shedrack Onitsha as Internal Auditor.

For the position of Ex-officio members, Marian Anochili, Joy Ochei, Alfred Makut, and Larry Mogbeyitere, were elected.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Godfrey Osakwe expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work in synergy with the newly elected EXCO members and members of the institute. He assured that his leadership would operate an open-door policy and encouraged members to come forward with intelligent ideas that would drive the institute toward positive progress.

Osakwe also congratulated all elected EXCO members and extended appreciation to development partners/sponsors and members for the support leading to the success records of the 2025 AGM Conference and Lecture.
