ABUJA/Nigeria: A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Emmanuel Eboh, has called for inclusive dialogue among leading political figures in Delta North, including former Governor Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, incumbent Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, to chart a united political course for the Anioma nation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Chief Eboh said the time had come for key Anioma leaders across party lines to engage in meaningful and strategic discussions that would promote peace, strengthen political cooperation, and consolidate the region’s influence within the state and national political landscape.

He revealed that the Delta North Senatorial Chairman of the APC, Ogbuefi Adizua Eluaka, had during the party’s last stakeholders’ meeting proposed a broad-based convergence of prominent Anioma leaders — including the State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme — to address differences, foster understanding, and ensure collective progress.

Eboh emphasized that the unity of purpose among Anioma leaders would be pivotal to maintaining Delta North’s political strength and ensuring effective representation at all levels of government.

“The assemblage of our prominent Anioma leaders within the APC presents an opportunity that must not be wasted,” he said. “We must build on this momentum through dialogue, cooperation, and collaboration to secure a stronger political base for Delta North.”

Describing as “commendable and timely” the recent reconciliation meeting between Senator Okowa and Senator Nwaoboshi, Chief Eboh said such gestures of rapprochement were necessary to restore trust and cohesion among key political actors in the zone.

He urged for a broader political meeting that would bring together all major Delta North stakeholders, stressing that a united front would not only stabilize the APC in the region but also make it more formidable and attractive to the electorate.

“Delta North has always demonstrated a preeminent and united front in politics,” Eboh said. “Since 1999, our senatorial district has enjoyed relative peace and political stability. Our leaders now have a moral and historical responsibility to build on that legacy by working together in the interest of our people.”

He noted that sustained peace and inclusivity among Anioma leaders would enhance the region’s bargaining power within Delta State’s political structure and ensure balanced representation in the years ahead.

Chief Eboh reiterated that unity, rather than division, remains the surest path to achieving progress for Delta North, calling on all political stakeholders to put personal interests aside and focus on the collective good of the people.
