ABUJA/Nigeria: The Minority Leader of the 9th House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, has called on Nigerians to deliberately embrace love, peace and tolerance as the only viable pathway to national cohesion and sustainable development.
In his Christmas message to the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and Nigerians at large, Elumelu stressed that the true essence of Christmas is anchored on love, hope, peace and salvation, virtues he described as indispensable to building a stable and prosperous society.
According to him, “love remains the key to lasting peace, forbearance, mutual understanding, sharing and compassion, which are the fundamentals of the healthy, safe and thriving society we all desire.” He warned that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of rancour, hatred and division.
The former Minority Leader noted that societies grow and flourish only when citizens choose dialogue over conflict, tolerance over hostility, and generosity over selfishness. He urged Nigerians to consciously imbibe the spirit of giving, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect, stressing that unity remains the nation’s greatest strength.
Elumelu reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and development of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, assuring the people that their collective interest would continue to guide his legislative and political engagements.
He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as their commitment to people-oriented projects and programmes at both national and state levels.
Elumelu called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the country and support the APC-led administration to ensure that the nation derives maximum benefit from its policies and programmes.
He wished Nigerians a merry Christmas, praying that the joy, peace and blessings of the season would abide with them and their families.
