Delta Police Bust Suspected Drug Syndicate, Arrest Three

Exhibits recovered by operatives of the Delta State Police Command during a raid on a suspected drug syndicate’s hideout in Ogbomoro community, Warri, leading to the arrest of three suspects over alleged illicit drug trafficking.

ASABA/Nigeria: Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have recorded another major breakthrough in the fight against illicit drug trafficking following the arrest of three suspected drug dealers during a covert operation in Warri metropolis.

The operation, which targeted suspected drug peddlers operating within the Ogbomoro and Ugolo communities, was carried out by operatives of Area Command, Effurun, acting on credible intelligence. The development was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Bright Edafe, in a statement issued in Asaba on Sunday.

According to the statement, the operation was conducted on May 7, 2026, at about 9:20 p.m., leading to the arrest of a suspected drug baron identified as Favor Isaac, 25, alongside two female accomplices, Favour Felix, 24, and Samson Precious, 19.

Police operatives reportedly executed a search warrant at the suspects’ hideout located along River Road in Ogbomoro community, where several illicit substances and related items were recovered.

Items recovered during the operation included 21 bottles of CSC Codeine, two canisters containing Nitrous Oxide popularly referred to as “laughing gas,” two packs of suspected psychoactive chewing gum branded “Highness Gum,” and 640 grams of substances suspected to be Canadian Loud concealed in different bags and containers.

The Command disclosed that preliminary investigations revealed that one Rukewe Tega Isaac, currently at large, is allegedly the major supplier coordinating the drug network.

Police authorities said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and other members of the syndicate linked to the illegal drug operation.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustained and aggressive operations against drug trafficking and other criminal activities across the state.

The police commissioner noted that the circulation and abuse of illicit drugs remained one of the major factors fueling violent crimes, cultism, and other social vices among youths.

He, therefore, appealed to residents to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information capable of aiding law enforcement agencies in combating crime and ensuring public safety.

The Command reiterated that it would not relent in its crackdown on criminal elements and warned individuals involved in drug trafficking and related crimes to desist or face the full weight of the law.
