Nwaeke Celebrates Delta Poly Rector, Ufuophu-Biri, at Birthday

ASABA/Nigeria: The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Nkem Nwaeke, has celebrated the Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, on his birthday, describing him as an accomplished scholar, media practitioner and administrator.

In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, Nwaeke described Ufuophu-Biri as a distinguished classmate, friend and alumnus of the 1998 set of the Department of Mass Communication, Delta State University, Abraka, saying his achievements since their university days had continued to bring pride to the class.

Nwaeke said the Rector’s career reflected the values of hard work, intellectual excellence and commitment to service, particularly his contributions to media practice, scholarship and the development of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara.

“Prof. Biri has exemplified diligence, brilliance and service. From our days in DELSU Abraka to where he is today leading one of Delta’s foremost polytechnics, he remains a shining example of what scholarship and hard work can achieve,” Nwaeke said.

He commended the Rector for what he described as significant progress recorded at the institution under his leadership, particularly in infrastructure, staff development and the expansion of academic programmes.

According to Nwaeke, Ufuophu-Biri’s emphasis on quality education and skills development is consistent with the broader objective of preparing young people in Delta State for meaningful participation in the economy.

He also acknowledged the Rector’s contributions to media scholarship and public communication, noting that his career had provided inspiration for students and younger professionals pursuing careers in journalism, communication and related fields.

Nwaeke expressed confidence that Ufuophu-Biri would continue to deploy his experience and expertise to advance the polytechnic and contribute to the development of education and human capital in Delta State and beyond.

He wished the celebrant continued good health, wisdom and fulfilment, praying for many more years of impactful service to the institution, Delta State and Nigeria.
