ABUJA/Nigeria: Ede Dafinone has congratulated a group of young Urhobo graduates on their induction as medical doctors, describing their achievement as a proud moment for the Urhobo nation, Delta Central and Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
The new doctors were formally inducted into the medical profession at the University of Abuja on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, marking the successful completion of their medical training and their admission into one of the country’s most critical professions.
In a goodwill message delivered on his behalf by Mrs. Oghor Okolo, the senator said the induction represented not only a personal triumph for the graduates but also a testament to the resilience, determination and academic excellence of young people from Delta Central.
He noted that it was heartening to see the young professionals answer the noble call to save lives and serve humanity through medicine, expressing confidence that they would distinguish themselves in the discharge of their professional responsibilities.
Dafinone disclosed that the newly inducted doctors were among participants at his Meet-and-Greet engagements held in November 2024 and 2025, describing their success as evidence of the enormous potential that exists among youths in Delta Central when they are encouraged, mentored and provided with opportunities to excel.
The lawmaker specifically congratulated Dr. John Oloche, Dr. Jerome Ekoh, Dr. John Agulefo and Dr. Thompson Onojuvwevwo for successfully completing the rigorous journey to becoming medical practitioners, commending their perseverance, discipline and unwavering commitment to academic excellence.
He also extended his congratulations to Dr. Ejiro Mitaire-Idonor, who was inducted in November 2025, urging the young physician to continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and compassionate service in the medical profession.
The senator paid tribute to the parents, guardians, families, mentors and loved ones of the newly inducted doctors, acknowledging their sacrifices, encouragement and steadfast support throughout the demanding years of medical education.
According to him, the success recorded by the young doctors is a shared achievement that reflects the collective investment of families and communities in nurturing future professionals.
Reaffirming his commitment to youth development and human capital advancement, Dafinone said his office would continue to support initiatives that promote education, leadership and professional excellence among young people across Delta Central.
He encouraged the new doctors to remain worthy ambassadors of the Urhobo nation and Nigeria by discharging their duties with integrity, competence and compassion, while making meaningful contributions to quality healthcare delivery and national development.
