ASABA/Nigeria: A Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, Dr. Patrick Ighomrore, has called for sustained commitment to the implementation of road infrastructure projects across riverine communities, saying effective delivery remains central to the success of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda.
Ighomrore made the call on Tuesday, July 21 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Director of Riverine Roads in the Delta State Ministry of Works (Rural and Riverine Roads), Engr. Mudiaga Ejohwomu, in Asaba.
The visit, which also served as an opportunity to appreciate Ejohwomu for his longstanding friendship and contributions to public service, focused on the need for continued collaboration in advancing development across the state’s riverine areas.
Speaking during the visit, Ighomrore commended the director for his dedication to duty and encouraged him to continue deploying his experience and office in support of the Oborevwori administration’s infrastructure drive, particularly the delivery of road projects aimed at improving access and socio-economic development in rural and riverine communities.
According to him, the Ministry of Works plays a strategic role in achieving the administration’s development objectives, especially in communities where road connectivity remains a major challenge.
He expressed confidence that the ministry, through the Riverine Roads Department, would continue to contribute to the delivery of projects that align with the governor’s vision of inclusive development across the state.
Responding, Engr. Ejohwomu appreciated Ighomrore for the visit and the goodwill expressed towards him.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the responsibilities of his office, assuring that he would continue to discharge his duties professionally in line with government policies and the mandate of the Ministry of Works.
Ejohwomu said the Riverine Roads Department remains focused on supporting ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure in riverine communities, noting that quality infrastructure is essential to economic growth and improved living standards.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for both officials to exchange views on the importance of effective public service, collaboration and sustained commitment to the development priorities of the Delta State Government.
