ABUJA/Nigeria: The presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for the 2027 general election, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, has named Hon. Chinazam Ike as his vice-presidential running mate, describing the choice as part of the party’s strategy to project a youthful and inclusive leadership ahead of the polls.

The nomination was announced in a statement issued on Monday by Abbas’ Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson.

According to the statement, the selection of Ike reflects the party’s commitment to presenting what it described as a competent leadership team capable of addressing Nigeria’s political and socio-economic challenges.

Abbas said the ADP ticket would focus on promoting national unity, economic growth and responsible governance, while offering Nigerians an alternative platform in the 2027 presidential election.

The statement identified Ike, an indigene of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, as a politician, entrepreneur and youth development advocate with more than two decades of experience in political leadership and public engagement.

It noted that he previously served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria and also held the position of National Youth Leader of the Action Democratic Party.

Beyond partisan politics, the party said Ike has been involved in the private sector as Project Director of Season.com Nig. Ltd., where he has contributed to housing development initiatives.

The statement further described the vice-presidential nominee as a proponent of youth inclusion, democratic governance and national development, expressing confidence that his experience would strengthen the party’s campaign.

It added that the Abbas-Ike ticket represents the party’s vision of a new generation of leadership anchored on competence, equity, innovation and public service.

The party also appealed to Nigerians, particularly young people, women, professionals, traditional institutions and civil society organisations, to support its campaign ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing optimism that its manifesto would resonate with voters seeking an alternative political direction.
