The Benin Grand Commandery of Knights of Saint John International (KSJI) has initiated forty-seven Catholics into the order at an event which the Grand President of the order, Brig-General Joseph Ojobu charged Knights to always be apostles of peaceful co-existence.
According to Brig-General Ojobu at a thanksgiving service on 25/01/15 at the Mary Immaculate Roman Catholic Church, Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South local government area of Delta State, Knights must encourage peaceful co-existence, especially, among Nigerians.

The thanksgiving service was the climax of the 4-day initiation ceremony which was part of the 15th Grand Board of Trustees (GBOT) meeting of Benin Grand Commandery of KSJI hosted by Commandery 731 and LAUX 564, Ogwashi-Uku.
“It is important that we promote and champion peace anywhere we go and we must uphold the sanctity of the order, we are members of KSJI, the oldest Knights in the world, our integrity must not be compromised, we must encourage diligence, we must encourage unity and don’t ever forget unity is our purpose, charity is our watchword,” the Grand President told the KSJI members.
While congratulating the new initiates and those who moved to different levels of the noble order, Brig-General Ojobu stated, “you must evangelize by character and by spoken words, illuminate the world with your actions, you must be the best any where you find yourself as you forge ahead, our filial relationship with the church cannot be compromised.”

He emphasized that the ideals of KSJI must be upheld at all times and the order must be sustained.
Earlier, Rev. Fr. Mark Nwoko in a sermon, called for repentance among Christians, adding that Christians should be instruments to make the world a better place.
“No matter how far you have wronged God, seek for repentance, say, be merciful to me, a sinner, sincerely from your heart, we should believe in the message of salvation, we should have a change of attitude, a change of heart positively,” the Priest said.
