IBADAN/Nigeria: The City Boy Movement (CBM) has removed its Oyo State Coordinator, Ahmed Ajibola, after concluding disciplinary proceedings over allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination and actions the organisation described as prejudicial to its interests.
The decision was announced in a statement signed by the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, who said the disciplinary action followed the consideration of allegations contained in a petition submitted against Ajibola.
Shoga explained that the disciplinary process began on June 2, 2026, when the movement issued Ajibola a notice to show cause, requiring him to respond within 48 hours to several allegations levelled against him.
According to the statement, the petition accused Ajibola of making abusive, insulting and derogatory remarks against the movement’s national leadership, including the Director-General. He was also alleged to have made offensive comments concerning the movement’s Patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu, and derogatory remarks about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The statement further alleged that Ajibola engaged in acts of insubordination and disrespect for constituted authority, challenged a state leader of the movement to a physical confrontation, and allegedly contributed to division and factionalisation within the Oyo State chapter.
The organisation also accused him of conduct capable of bringing the City Boy Movement into disrepute, warning in its earlier notice that failure to provide a satisfactory defence could attract disciplinary sanctions.
Following the conclusion of the disciplinary process, the movement announced Ajibola’s removal as Oyo State Coordinator.
In a related development, the City Boy Movement appointed Hon. Adewale Oladiti as the new Oyo State Coordinator.
His appointment, conveyed in a letter dated August 6, 2026, was attributed to his commitment to the movement, grassroots mobilisation efforts and willingness to advance the organisation’s activities in Oyo State.
The appointment letter stated that the State Coordinator would report directly to the Oyo State Director and operate under the Director’s supervision and administrative authority, while reaffirming that the State Director remains the principal head and chief coordinating authority of the movement in the state.
