ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government has been thrown into mourning following the death of Mr. Sunny Kotor, Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, with the Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, describing his passing as a profound and painful loss.
In a condolence message on Saturday, Osuoza expressed deep sadness over the demise of Kotor, who was widely known for his role as a Master of Ceremony at state functions and for his exceptional professionalism in coordinating official engagements.
“It is with deep sadness that I received the news of the passing of Mr. Sunny Kotor,” the commissioner stated, noting that the late protocol aide’s contributions extended beyond routine duties, as he consistently brought dignity, structure and excellence to government functions.
Osuoza said Kotor’s composure and unmistakable presence at official events had earned him respect across government circles, adding that his death represents a significant loss not only to his immediate family but also to the entire state.
“His death is a profound loss; not only to his family, but to the Government and people of Delta State who benefited immensely from his professionalism,” he said. “He set a standard that will be difficult to forget.”
Reflecting on the loss, the commissioner described death as a sobering reminder of the fragility of life, urging those left behind to draw strength in this difficult moment.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and associates of the deceased, praying for divine comfort and fortitude to bear what he termed an irreparable loss.
“May God grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” Osuoza added, while praying for the peaceful repose of Kotor’s soul.
