ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Police Command has announced its readiness to participate in the forthcoming National Police Day 2026, unveiling a lineup of activities aimed at strengthening police-community relations and promoting public safety across the state.

The statement noted that the planned activities are carefully designed not only to deepen engagement between the police and the community but also to raise awareness on safety issues while recognising the sacrifices of officers who have served the nation with dedication and honour.
Kicking off on Monday, March 30, 2026, the programme will feature a sanitation and environmental cleaning exercise within the Asaba metropolis, alongside a medical outreach at the Police Headquarters in Asaba, aimed at providing basic healthcare services to residents.
On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the Command will organise a Walkathon for Peace and Public Safety, which will commence from the Police Headquarters through the Challenge axis along Okpanam Road in Asaba, symbolising unity and collective responsibility for security.
Activities will continue on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, with a community engagement and sensitisation programme focusing on the dangers of electoral violence and the importance of safe driving practices, especially as the nation approaches future electoral cycles.
In a solemn highlight of the week, the Command will, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, present cheques to families of fallen officers on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, in honour of personnel who paid the supreme price in the line of duty.
The weeklong activities will culminate in a grand finale scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in Abuja, featuring a ceremonial parade and tactical display expected to showcase the operational strength and preparedness of the Nigeria Police Force.
