OWERRI/Nigeria: Nigerian scientist and educator, Dr Nwoke Uwaoma, has been selected to receive the International Excellence Award at the Ninth World Meet 2026 scheduled to hold in Bangkok, Thailand.
The award presentation is billed for October 31, according to a notification issued by Shahid Mahmood, General Secretary of the Ninth World Meet.
Mahmood conveyed the decision in a letter addressed to Uwaoma, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday.
In the letter, the organiser attributed Uwaoma’s selection to his achievements, leadership qualities, service to society and contributions to human development.
Mahmood said the recognition reflected the Nigerian scholar’s commitment to excellence and the positive impact of his work.
The presentation ceremony, he added, is expected to attract international delegates, government officials, distinguished guests, members of royal families and other eminent personalities.
The Ninth World Meet promotes ideals centred on peace, humanity, leadership and global friendship, according to the organiser.
Uwaoma is a scholar, global educator and peace ambassador. He also serves as the Nigerian regional representative of NEQA-UK, identified as the National Education and Quality Assurance Accreditation, United Kingdom.
His academic and research interests include fluidic and thermal sciences, with his work contributing to the development of an indigenous liquefaction model for natural gas.
The forthcoming award places him among individuals receiving international recognition for their reported contributions to scholarship, leadership and societal development.
The ceremony in Bangkok will provide the occasion for the formal presentation of the honour on October 31.
