ASABA/Nigeria: A prominent political figure in Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Senator representing Delta North, Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, describing his death as a painful loss to Delta State and Nigeria’s political landscape.

In a condolence message dated December 19, 2025, Osuoza paid glowing tribute to the late senator, whom he described as a formidable politician, dogged fighter and accomplished statesman whose contributions to Delta State politics and national legislative service would remain indelible.

He recalled that Senator Nwaoboshi served with distinction as a two-term Chairman of the Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later represented the Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, where he was known for his courage, outspoken disposition and unwavering commitment to the interests of his people.

According to Osuoza, the late senator was a man of deep conviction who never shied away from defending causes he believed were just, even in the face of intense political opposition, earning him a reputation as one of the most fearless voices in Delta politics.

He noted that in what now appears to be an act of rare wisdom and foresight, Senator Nwaoboshi made peace with all those he had political differences with before his passing, describing the gesture as a profound testament to his large heart, political maturity and spiritual preparedness.

“We mourn his passing with profound grief, yet we are consoled by the legacy of service, reconciliation and courage he leaves behind,” Osuoza said, praying that God forgives the late senator’s shortcomings and grants his soul eternal rest.

Osuoza extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the All Progressives Congress (APC), his political associates across party lines and the entire people of Delta North, praying that God grants all the fortitude to bear what he described as an irreparable loss.
