Handing over the items to the Proprietor of the orphanage, Prophet Joseph Igbodo, Mrs Uboh, who was accompanied by the Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Community Media, Mr. Jonathan Onwuka, said that, having been blessed by God she believes it was necessary for her to identify and support the less privileged, especially, orphans.
She noted that, “we must always be our brothers’ keepers by sharing whatever we have with others, especially children who do not have parents, adding that, ” the only sincere way we can show appreciation to God is for us to aways reach out to the less privileged ones amongst us.”
While noting that many children raised in orphanages have excelled in different fields of human endeavours, the Senior Special Assistant called on government at various levels as well as wealthy individuals, to always assist inmates of orphanages so as to prepare them for better and responsible future.
She equally called on churches and philanthropic organisations to also contribute to the welfare of orphans and less privileged members of the society, as according to her, “doing that should form very important part of their responsibilities to the society.”
Mrs Uboh also promised to offset the school fees of inmates of the orphanage, which according to the proprietor runs into hundreds of thousands of naira. She equally assured she would continue to provide for the children in all areas.
Receiving the items, an obviously elated Prophet Igbodo, thanked Mrs Uboh for her kind gesture, saying she has been a strong pillar of support and assistance to the orphanage for so many years. He prayed God to continue to protect and bless her to be able to do more, not only for inmates of the orphanage, but for humanity at large.
