ASABA/Nigeria: The organizers of the Maris Annual Public Service Lecture series, The Maris Trust Council (MTC), have extended their warm congratulations to prominent figures in the public service for their successful assumption of duty. The commendations were directed towards Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, and Hon. Bridget Anyafulu, the member representing Oshimili South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
In an official statement jointly signed by Dr. Kenneth Olise, Chairman of Maris Trust Council, and Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, Secretary of the council, the MTC expressed their delight at the acceptance of these distinguished individuals who actively participated in the Maris Annual Public Service Lecture series. The council believes that the selection of these individuals is a testament to the fact that the organizers have a firm grasp on the realities of effective public service.
Egugbo, speaking on behalf of the MTC, emphasized the importance of the lecture series in fostering the ideals of selfless service and effective tax administration for the betterment of society. He quoted, “The Council expressed confidence that the Deputy Governor who delivered the year 2021 edition of the lecture and spoke on the topic, ‘Effective Tax Administration For The Delivery Of Democratic Dividends,’ is now working closely with the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to put into practice those ideas that he propounded at the lecture.”
Continuing with heartfelt appreciation, Egugbo stated, “While we thank the electorate for having implicit confidence in the abilities of Sir Monday Onyeme, we urge him to continue with his good works of charity and strong belief in rendering service to humanity.”
Furthermore, the MTC recognized Hon. Bridget Anyafulu’s exceptional lecture on “Selfless Service, A Phenomenal Virtue,” delivered by former Secretary to the State Government, Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas. Egugbo praised Hon. Anyafulu’s dedication to public service and expressed confidence in her preparedness for the challenges ahead as a legislator. He conveyed, “Congratulations to her and thank you to the people of Oshimili South for choosing someone who will serve them with the fear of God.”
The MTC also acknowledged other participants in the lecture series, including Mrs. Shimite Bello and Hon. Orezi Edna Esievo, who demonstrated their commitment to public service. The council expressed confidence that the ideas presented in the lectures would serve as valuable guidance in their forthcoming roles.
Reflecting on the recently held lecture, Chief Fidelis Okenmor Tilije’s captivating discussion on “Provision of Infrastructure as Catalyst for Growth of Democratic Governments” received admiration from the MTC. The council is eagerly awaiting his swearing-in as a member of the Delta State Executive Council and is optimistic about his dedication to serving humanity.
