Nwoko Hails Buhari as Statesman of Rare Integrity, Joins National Assembly Leaders in Daura Condolence Visit

DAURA/Nigeria: Senator Ned Nwoko has paid glowing tribute to the late former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a statesman of exceptional integrity whose legacy will endure in the annals of Nigeria’s political and moral history.

In a condolence statement on Thursday, Senator Nwoko said the former president lived a life of discipline, simplicity, and dedicated public service that inspired millions across the country. He joined other Nigerians in mourning the passing of the man who once served as both a military and civilian leader of the nation.

Senator Nwoko was among a high-powered delegation of the National Assembly led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio that visited Daura, Buhari’s hometown in Katsina State, to condole with the late president’s family. The delegation offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the former president’s soul and extended their sympathy to his loved ones.

“We sought Almighty Allah’s mercy and forgiveness on his behalf. May he be granted Aljannah Firdaus,” Nwoko said during the solemn visit.

The delegation also stopped at the palace of the Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, to express their condolences to the emirate over the loss of a revered son and national icon. Senator Nwoko described Buhari as a man whose humility and strength of character were deeply admired across Nigeria.

“President Buhari was a symbol of pride and honour, a man whose life was devoted to serving his people with humility and unwavering discipline,” he stated.

At the Katsina State Government House, the delegation was received by Governor Dikko Umar Radda, where Senator Nwoko conveyed his sympathies to the government and people of the state. He described Buhari’s passing as a monumental national loss.

“President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR was a statesman of rare integrity. His contributions to Nigeria’s political and moral landscape will remain indelible,” he said.

Senator Nwoko concluded his tribute by praying for strength and consolation for Buhari’s family and the nation at large. “May Allah comfort his family and the entire nation. Ameen,” he said.

The death of President Buhari has continued to attract heartfelt tributes from across Nigeria and the international community, with many remembering him as a leader who shaped critical moments in the country’s democratic evolution.
