Oborevwori’s Leadership Driving Delta’s Growth, Says Oghenesivbe ….Bags award of professional excellence in Abuja

Director General of the Delta State Bureau of Communications and Orientation, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, participating in the Governing Council meeting of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM), held at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.

ABUJA/Nigeria: Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s transformational leadership has positively impacted the state and its people in the past two years.

He made the assertion on Friday while speaking with newsmen on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Governing Council members of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM), held at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja. Oghenesivbe noted that Oborevwori’s deliberate focus on non-oil sector development has boosted Delta’s economic fortunes, positioning the state as the fourth largest economy in Nigeria.

The Bureau Chief emphasized that in the area of human capital development, the Oborevwori administration is committed to investing in youth empowerment through sports, digital innovation, vocational training, and capacity building for government spokespersons, media professionals, and information managers.

He disclosed that Governor Oborevwori has approved the 6th edition of the Delta Strategic Communication Workshop (Delcom), designed to sharpen the skills of 150 political appointees and media partners across the three senatorial districts. According to him, Professor Joyce Ogwezi, Head of Mass Communication Department at Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, has been named Chief Trainer for Delcom 2025.

At the event, Oghenesivbe was honoured with the Award of Professional Excellence and Leadership in recognition of his contributions to strategic communication, media, and information management. He thanked Governor Oborevwori and the Delta State Government for building a productive workforce that enabled him to excel in his responsibilities.

The award was presented to him on behalf of the CIISM Governing Council by His Royal Majesty, Dr. Richard Oghenevwogaga Ebelle, the Okorefe I, Ovie of Agbarha-Otor Kingdom, who commended Oghenesivbe’s consistency and professional excellence spanning over two decades.

Similarly, CIISM President, Ambassador Dr. (Mrs.) Oritseweyinmi Temile, described Oghenesivbe as a highly proactive and efficient media manager whose expertise continues to add value to the Institute, Delta State, and Nigeria. She expressed confidence that his professional excellence would sustain his relevance far ahead of his contemporaries.

Registrar of the Institute, Dr. Adelanke Oyintoke, also lauded Oghenesivbe for his creativity and unique approach to strategic communication, free of misinformation and disinformation. He disclosed that council members overwhelmingly re-elected him as Head of Media and Communication Unit for another two-year term, extending his service as a council member and strategic communications lead to four years.
