Delta State Government Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Development Amid False Narratives

Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborvwori of Delta State

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, meaningful development, and enhanced peace and security, in response to recent narratives by certain quarters seeking to misrepresent the administration’s achievements. Speaking at a press briefing today, Monday, September 22, 2025, the Commissioner for Works (Rural) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, said the Oborvwori administration remains steadfast in its vision to deliver equitable development across all 25 local government areas of the state.

Mr. Aniagwu emphasized that the governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborvwori, has executed numerous projects that have opened up previously neglected areas and created enabling environments for investment, employment, and social progress. “Every federal constituency has projects that are mindful of the people’s needs,” he said, noting that any attempts to demarket the government ahead of the 2027 elections are based on falsehoods and political calculation.

The Commissioner highlighted that peace and security, a key pillar of the governor’s four-point MORE agenda, remain central to the administration’s development strategy. Oborvwori, an Isoko man, has consistently governed without ethnic bias, ensuring fair treatment for all residents, whether Isoko, Ijaw, Ishakiri, Anioma, Yoruba, or others.

“The governor has demonstrated fairness across all divides, in appointments and in the distribution of projects, governing every inch of Delta State with equity,” Aniagwu stressed.

He further reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a peaceful, habitable, and investor-friendly environment. The governor has directed the establishment of a peace and reconciliation committee to address grievances and strengthen social cohesion across the state. Aniagwu noted that critics who attempt to misrepresent Oborvwori’s intentions are painting a picture at variance with reality and will not derail the administration’s inclusive governance model.

“The Oborvwori approach is one that values every resident, delivers results, and ensures the total development of all 25 local government areas, the three senatorial districts, and the 10 federal constituencies. Our commitment remains unshaken, even as politics intensifies ahead of the 2027 elections,” Aniagwu said, urging members of the political class to embrace patriotism and support the state’s developmental initiatives.
