ASABA/Nigeria: As the race for the 2027 National Assembly elections gradually gathers momentum, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Emmanuel Eboh, has thrown his weight behind Senator Ned Nwoko’s return bid, describing any opposing ambition within Delta North Senatorial District as self-serving, unnecessary, and potentially harmful to the unity and development of the Anioma people.
Speaking in an interview in Abuja, Eboh, a former commissioner in Delta State, said Senator Nwoko continues to command widespread goodwill and grassroots support across Delta North, stressing that his performance in office has earned him the confidence of constituents who are eager to see him return to the Senate.
While acknowledging that political aspirations remain a fundamental right in a democratic system, Eboh cautioned against what he described as an “unacceptable drift towards turning politics into a family enterprise and a tool for power control and manipulation.” He urged political actors to place collective interest above personal ambition.
The APC stalwart called on residents of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and the broader Delta North district to resist what he termed “the inordinate ambition of some Shylock politicians driven by selfish motives and unrestrained personal interests,” warning that such tendencies could undermine cohesion in the district.
He further warned that personality-driven ambitions, rather than people-focused leadership, risk triggering avoidable rivalry and deepening divisions within Delta North, a region he said has long prided itself on unity and shared purpose.
Eboh maintained that Senator Nwoko’s stewardship has been marked by tangible achievements, citing interventions in rural road construction, electrification projects, education support, potable water supply, and empowerment initiatives that have positively impacted communities across Anioma.
He also highlighted the senator’s sustained advocacy for the recognition and identity of Anioma, describing it as unprecedented in the political history of the district and a testament to Nwoko’s commitment to regional advancement.
According to him, “Senator Nwoko has not only met expectations but surpassed them. He deserves re-election, particularly given the fact that the core constitutional responsibility of a senator is lawmaking for the good governance of the nation.”
Eboh noted that the people of Delta North view Nwoko as a progressive leader who embodies unity, dignity, and inclusive representation, urging him not to be distracted by what he described as unnecessary political contestation.
Reaffirming confidence in the senator’s leadership, Eboh said Nwoko’s commitment to the growth and development of Anioma remains unwavering and called on constituents to sustain their support for his return to the Senate.
He also urged continued support for Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as preparations begin to shape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
