Dafinone: Guwor’s Election Strengthens Delta’s Voice in National Legislature

ABUJA/Nigeria: Senator Ede Dafinone has congratulated Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor following his election as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, saying the development enhances Delta State’s influence within Nigeria’s legislative architecture.

In a statement released Wednesday, the lawmaker noted that Guwor, who presides over the Delta State House of Assembly, earned the position during an extraordinary session held in Abuja on Monday, February 10, 2026, adding that the elevation reflects his proven leadership, integrity and institutional credibility.

Describing the development as a major boost for Delta State and the nation’s democratic institutions, Dafinone said Guwor’s emergence is a profound testament to his leadership capacity and clear vision for strengthening legislative governance across the federation.

According to the senator, the elevation carries implications that extend beyond the boundaries of Delta State. “This elevation is a significant win for Delta State, positioning us at the forefront of national legislative innovation,” he stated.

Dafinone expressed confidence that Guwor’s new responsibility would contribute meaningfully to democratic consolidation in Nigeria. “I am confident that his new role will further strengthen our democratic institutions and the independence of the legislature across the federation,” he added.
