Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Emevor, Isoko North local government area of Delta State have resolved to resist any form of poaching ahead ofthe 2015 general elections.
At an enlarged meeting of the politicians convened by Pharm. (Dr.) Nelson Ejakpovi at the residence of Prof. Godwin Sogolo, the PDP members observed that Emevor community delivers block vote for the PDP and stated that as a result of the outcome of the local government council elections, there were dissenting voices but, such was resolved at the meeting.
Dr. Ejakpovi at the meeting disclosed that he summoned the meeting based on alien
behavior of some members of the party which had resulted in the destruction of posters of candidates of the PDP.
According to him, “we thought it necessary to come together today so that any aggrieved person should come out and bare his mind as a family, this is because in the past few weeks, we have come to realised that some of our committed members are aligning with some foreign bodies, we found out that PDP posters pasted are being torn and that is not a good mark,” adding, “we can’t afford to allow loopholes.”
He emphasized that the people of Emevor should re-enact what they are known for by giving block vote to the PDP, assuring that it is only the PDP that would evenly ensure development of the state.
Dr. Ejakpovo in particular said the people should vote for the governorship candidate of the PDP, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa because of his experience and exposure in the politics of the state, asserting, “Dr Okowa will not disappoint us, he will work for a progressive state where we are all equal stakeholders.”
The immediate past Vice Chairman of Isoko North local government council of the state, Chief Peter Ibiri thanked Dr Ejakpovi for taking pro-active steps to restore the confidence of the people in the PDP, observing that “after the party primaries, during the Local government election, I’ve been expecting that we will call a meeting like this to address the issues that followed, the party must learn to be calling regular meetings so as to address issues and keep the party on a path of glorious victory when the need arises.”
Chief Ibiri and others who spoke at the occasion including, Mr. Emmanuel Erhire, Hon. Sylvester Ifode and Pa Moses Ovuorie stated that the meeting had united members
of the PDP and has prepared the party for victory.
They emphasized that Emevor is totally for the PDP and they would work for the victory of the party not only in Emevor or Isoko area but, in all parts of the state.
