KWALE/Nigeria: The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, has dedicated his victory in the May 16, 2026 party primary election to God, declaring that his emergence was made possible through divine grace and the overwhelming support of party faithful across the constituency.
Ezechi, in a thank-you message issued following his declaration as winner of the APC primary by the State Returning Officer and Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Godknows Angele, expressed appreciation to party members and stakeholders across Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani Local Government Areas for what he described as their massive support that culminated in his landslide victory.
The APC candidate said the outcome of the primary election reflected the confidence reposed in him by party members and the collective determination of APC faithful in the federal constituency to sustain the party’s growing political momentum ahead of the 2027 general election.
He particularly thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his visionary leadership and the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the administration’s policies had strengthened public confidence in the ruling APC.
According to him, the support enjoyed by the APC in Delta State was also boosted by the alignment between the Federal Government and the state administration, a development he said had renewed the hope of Deltans and increased support for the party.
Ezechi also reserved special commendation for Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, stating that the governor’s MORE Agenda had positively impacted communities in Ndokwa nation and Delta State at large.
He further acknowledged the role played by the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, describing him as a worthy son of Ndokwa nation whose mentorship and encouragement had inspired younger politicians in the area to aspire to leadership positions.
The former lawmaker equally reflected on his political journey under the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, under whom he served in different capacities before his election to the National Assembly in 2023.
According to Ezechi, the experience and exposure gained during his period of service under Okowa prepared him for greater responsibilities and contributed significantly to his legislative performance over the past three years representing the people of Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency.
He also appreciated the National Working Committee and State Working Committee of the APC for sustaining internal democracy within the party, describing the peaceful conduct of the primaries as evidence of members’ loyalty, unity and commitment.
The APC standard bearer extended gratitude to party executives and stakeholders at all levels, including local government chairmen, ward executives, support groups, women and youth organisations across the three local government areas for ensuring a peaceful and orderly primary process.
Ezechi further acknowledged the sacrifices and support of some of his co-aspirants, particularly Mathias Osanebi and Ikechukwu Ani, who stepped down during the race, describing their actions as contributions that made the process easier.
He also commended other aspirants, including Rt. Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai and Hon. Chukwuemeka Victor, for participating in the contest and accepting the outcome in the spirit of sportsmanship.
Calling for unity ahead of the 2027 election, Ezechi appealed to party leaders, elders, women, youths, persons living with disabilities and all APC faithful to work together to consolidate the support recorded during the primary election and translate it into victory at the general polls.
“I cannot do it alone. I need the support and cooperation of all party faithful to go into the election and come out successful,” he stated while praying for God’s blessings and good health for supporters and stakeholders.
