A stakeholder and a distinguished former senator of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Francis Nwajei has called for the scrapping of the government Annex at Warri because there is no state in Nigeria that has two capital cities, he disclosed this to newsmen recently at his office in Grand Hotel, Asaba.
The Senator declined the attitude of the past governments towards disenfranchising the original people of Asaba, the right to inherit land in their own town of origin that’s why the bill of Asaba master plan development agency is commendable because the past government mismanaged the land process and made strangers owe land more than the Asaba indigenes, Delta state has money to develop the state properly so that Deltans can be proud of their capital city, this time around we want to bring back the old glory of the state when it was Bendel state, the bill on Asaba development will enhance the development of Asaba, creation of jobs for the teeming unemployed youths and to ensure that everybody leaving in Asaba pays tax and we will make sure that roads are built properly.
“look at Okpanam road on rainy day, is that not rubbish from the past administrations, at Abraka there is no single road tarred and the whole of Ethiope-east local government area, once the rain comes the town becomes water logged, so if not greed, from the other government, there is enough money to develop the state, Dr Okowa will change all that gradually, Deltans should be patient, Okowa has the capacity to rule and for equity and fairness the government of Delta state should go round in the three senatorial districts”. He said
Nwajei further explained that Anioma people are satisfied with the emergence of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to rule over Delta state which we the Aniomas have been clamouring for, If you look at Okowa’s profile over the years, he is been rising because of his wealth of experiences which he will put on ground to better the lives of Deltans, in every organization there is fund challenges, so what the state is facing now is nothing new to the system.
“when the going is tough the tough gets going, that’s why Okowa is there to make things happen, people should not use tribunal to distract Okowa because it’s a clear fact that he won election and this state can never be an APC state, APC faithful should go to federal to seek for appointments because going to tribunal is a waste of time”. He concluded.
