ASABA/Nigeria: Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has empowered no fewer than 500 youths and women in a wide-ranging development initiative aimed at promoting self-employment, wealth creation, improved healthcare access and sustainable community growth across the district.
The empowerment programme, which commenced at the weekend in Asaba, drew beneficiaries from communities across the nine local government areas of Delta North. Participants underwent intensive entrepreneurial and business development training designed to equip them with practical skills for self-reliance and long-term economic productivity.
At the end of the three-day capacity-building exercise, each beneficiary received a grant of ₦100,000. The training was coordinated by the Centre for Management Development in collaboration with ABEAM Global Resources Limited.
Speaking at the empowerment ceremony, Senator Nwoko said the initiative was deliberately structured to unlock the potential of youths and women as drivers of job creation and local economic expansion, stressing that sustainable development begins with strategic investment in human capital.
Represented by his Political Adviser, Chief Emmanuel Afam Eboh, the senator expressed concern for the welfare of the people of Delta North and assured that additional empowerment programmes would be introduced in the 2026 legislative year. He reaffirmed his commitment to community development through sustained engagement with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Delta State Government led by Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
Describing youths as agents of innovation and creativity, Nwoko urged beneficiaries to remain focused and purposeful, noting that enterprise, resilience and youthful energy are critical to economic growth and community stability. Beneficiaries, including representatives from Aniocha North, Oshimili South, Ika South, Ndokwa East and Ukwuani, commended the senator for his consistent contributions to the social and economic development of Anioma land.
