Oborevwori Celebrates Ex-Delta Chief Judge Umukoro at 70, Hails Legacy of Judicial Excellence

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated former Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Marshal Umukoro, on the occasion of his 70th birth anniversary, describing him as an accomplished jurist whose contributions to the state judiciary remain enduring and impactful.

Governor Oborevwori, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, praised Justice Umukoro for his distinguished service to Delta State, noting that his years on the bench were marked by integrity, diligence and unwavering commitment to justice and institutional development.

The Governor recalled that Justice Umukoro’s illustrious judicial career reached its peak with his appointment as Chief Judge of Delta State in 2015, a position he held until his retirement in 2021, leaving behind what he described as a legacy of reforms and judicial advancement.

Oborevwori particularly commended the former Chief Judge for his role in strengthening the state judiciary and achieving full judicial autonomy during his tenure, noting that the milestone remains one of the defining accomplishments of his administration of the judiciary.

He further described the celebrant as a respected legal luminary, Life Bencher and statesman whose service to humanity and dedication to the rule of law have continued to inspire the legal profession and the wider society.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I join your family, friends and professional colleagues in celebrating this important milestone.

“As you mark your 70th birth anniversary, it is my prayer that God grants you continued good health, wisdom, fulfilment and continued service to society,” the Governor stated.
