Oborevwori Marks Olu of Warri’s Fifth Year on Throne, Says Reign Has Strengthened Peace

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has marked the fifth anniversary of the coronation of the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, saying the monarch’s reign has contributed to peace, unity and renewed cooperation within Warri Kingdom and beyond.

The governor’s message came as the Warri Kingdom marks five years of the monarch’s reign, with Oborevwori highlighting the Olu’s efforts to preserve Itsekiri culture while encouraging peaceful relationships with other ethnic groups in Delta State.

In a congratulatory message issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Oborevwori described Atuwatse III as a peace-loving and visionary traditional ruler whose leadership had helped strengthen harmony among the people of the kingdom.

The governor said the monarch had, over the past five years, demonstrated a commitment to the welfare of his people and the preservation of the customs and traditions of the Itsekiri nation.

He also linked the monarch’s reign to efforts aimed at promoting the socio-economic revival of Warri Kingdom, as well as stronger relationships between the Itsekiri and other communities.

Oborevwori described the Olu as “a man of peace” and “a bridge-builder”, saying his approach to traditional leadership had continued to inspire confidence among his subjects.

He urged the people of Warri Kingdom to sustain their support for the monarch as he pursues his vision for a more united, peaceful and prosperous Iwere nation.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I warmly felicitate His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, on the occasion of his fifth coronation anniversary,” Oborevwori said.

He added that the monarch had distinguished himself through his dedication to traditional leadership and his efforts to maintain the cultural heritage of the Itsekiri people.

The governor also expressed the hope that the Olu would continue to provide leadership that promotes peaceful coexistence and development across Warri Kingdom.

He prayed for continued good health, wisdom and strength for the monarch as he leads his people.

The anniversary marks five years since Ogiame Atuwatse III assumed the throne of the Warri Kingdom.
