ASABA/Nigeria: The Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Delta State Chapter, Godfrey C. Osakwe, has called on members to rededicate themselves to the ideals and objectives of the Institute, stressing that commitment remains the foundation of professional excellence.
Osakwe made the appeal during the Chapter’s Monthly PR Clinic and the inauguration of seven sub-committees established to ensure seamless implementation of its action plan covering January 2026 to June 2027. He noted that reputation management, good governance and professional value constitute the core pillars of the public relations profession and must guide members in their conduct and service.
Addressing those appointed into the committees, the chairman urged them to approach their responsibilities with diligence and a strong sense of duty. He expressed confidence in their capacity to deliver results, stating that the assignments before them are critical to strengthening the Institute’s operational efficiency and advancing its strategic vision.
Seven sub-committees, each chaired by members of the Institute, were formally inaugurated as part of efforts to enhance institutional coordination and drive the Chapter’s programmes.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, the Chapter’s Public Relations Officer, Fred Oghenesivbe, commended the chairman’s leadership and assured members of the committees’ readiness to execute their mandate. Oghenesivbe, who also serves as Director-General of the Orientation Bureau and Chairman of the Secretariat and Stakeholders Engagement Committee, pledged that assigned tasks would be completed within a reasonable timeframe.
“We will hit the ground running and deliver,” he affirmed, while encouraging members to actively publicise Institute activities and materials to boost visibility and relevance. According to him, increased dissemination of NIPR initiatives would strengthen its influence and value within the professional and public space.
The highlight of the PR Clinic was the formal inauguration of the seven sub-committees, marking a key step in the Chapter’s drive toward institutional growth and effective programme delivery.
