ASABA/Nigeria: As Christians across the world prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Asaba, in collaboration with the Delta State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), has concluded arrangements to host the 2025 Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.
The annual sacred festival is scheduled for Sunday, December 21, and will take place at the Church Auditorium of the Anglican Girls Grammar School (AGGS), Asaba, Delta State. The programme is expected to commence promptly at 7:00 a.m.
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols offers worshippers a solemn and enriching opportunity to reaffirm the primacy of God in their daily lives through inspiring scriptural readings and soul-lifting Christmas carols that encourage reflection, gratitude and renewed spiritual strength in the face of global and personal challenges.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Chapter of NIPR, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq., it was disclosed that the State Chairman of the Institute, Mr. Godfrey Osakwe, FNIPR, will lead members of the Chapter to the annual festival.
Dr. Oghenesivbe assured that the 2025 edition of the festival promises to be a glorious expression of praise and worship, carefully designed to rekindle the spirit of love, unity and righteousness among public relations practitioners, professionals from various sectors and the wider community.
He described Christmas as a season of love and peace, a period when barriers give way to brotherhood, friendships are strengthened, love is freely shared and hearts are uplifted beyond human understanding.
According to him, the season is also marked by deep gratitude and heartfelt thanksgiving, noting that members of the Institute, invited guests and special guests are encouraged to dress in Christmas colours—white with a touch of red or red with a touch of white.
“Delta NIPR is pleased to announce the 2025 Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in collaboration with St. Philip’s Anglican Church, AGGS Asaba. Members and invited guests are expected to be seated on or before 6:45 a.m., as the programme will commence promptly at 7:00 a.m.,” Oghenesivbe said.
