Mrs. Ladipo, while addressing the press, reiterated the government’s position on the matter, saying, “For the umpteenth time, the Oyo State government wishes to inform the teeming public that Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board is not recruiting into any position in the board yet.”
She went on to urge the public to disregard any information regarding recruitment and to promptly report any fraudulent activities perpetrated by imposters claiming to represent the state government.
“Please disregard any information circulating on social media or other platforms about recruitment by the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board. It is false,” she stressed. “The Board is yet to recruit into vacant positions and will announce such through the appropriate quarters.”
In another development, the Board inaugurated the School Based Management Committee (SBMC) at the Oyo State Model Smart School located in Sogunro, Akinyele, Ibadan. Mrs. Ladipo emphasized that this initiative aims to enhance governance and improve the effectiveness of educational systems at the foundational level of education in the state.
The Acting Executive Secretary encouraged SBMC committee members to collaborate with the Oyo State government in achieving their shared objectives. She further explained that the SBMC is a governing body comprising 10 statutory members drawn from the school’s host community.
According to Mrs. Ladipo, the establishment of SBMCs aligns with a resolution passed by the National Council of Education (NCE) in 1995, which seeks to enhance the governance of basic and secondary schools and provide a sustainable platform for stakeholder participation and non-governmental support to schools.
