ASABA/Nigeria: The Member representing Ndokwa West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuemeke Charles Emetulu, has called on residents of the area to take full advantage of the second phase of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a civic awareness message made public on Monday, Emetulu stressed that voter registration remains the foundation of democratic participation and urged all eligible citizens in Ndokwa West to ensure they are properly registered to vote.

According to the lawmaker, the ongoing CVR exercise, which runs from January 5 to April 17, 2026, is open to all Nigerians who have attained the age of 18 and meet the basic registration requirements.

“Your civic duty starts with registration. The Continuous Voter Registration exercise is simple, fast, and open to all eligible citizens,” the statement read.

He explained that prospective voters are required to present themselves in person at designated INEC registration centres with any valid means of identification in order to be enrolled.

The flyer also indicated that eligibility for registration is limited to citizens who are 18 years and above and who possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN), in line with INEC guidelines.

In addition to physical registration at INEC offices, Emetulu drew attention to the availability of online pre-registration through INEC’s official portal at cvr.inecnigeria.org, which allows applicants to begin the process electronically before completing biometric capture at registration centres.

Describing the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) as a critical instrument of civic power, the Ndokwa West lawmaker urged residents not to be indifferent to the registration process.

“Having your PVC is your voice, your power, and your contribution to building the future we all desire. Let us participate actively and responsibly in the democratic process,” the message stated.

Emetulu further encouraged youths and first-time voters in particular to seize the opportunity to be registered, noting that inclusive participation strengthens democratic governance and ensures that the voices of Ndokwa West people are adequately represented in future elections.
He concluded by appealing for collective commitment to democratic values, saying, “Together, let’s strengthen our democracy and secure a better Ndokwa West.”

The Continuous Voter Registration exercise is part of INEC’s ongoing efforts to expand the voter database ahead of future elections and to ensure that all eligible Nigerians have the opportunity to participate in the electoral process.

Residents of Ndokwa West are therefore expected to turn out in large numbers at designated INEC centres or use the online portal to begin their registration within the stipulated period.
