
ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government has called on qualified indigenes of the state to apply for admission into the 78 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), urging interested candidates to take advantage of the opportunity to pursue both academic excellence and military service.
In an advisory issued by the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, the government encouraged all eligible male and female candidates of Delta State origin, as well as other qualified Nigerians, to complete their applications before the closing date of Thursday, April 30, 2026. The application portal is available at www.ndaapplications.net
According to the statement, prospective applicants must possess a minimum of five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in GCE, SSCE or NECO examinations. In addition, candidates are required to register for and sit the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), selecting the Nigerian Defence Academy as their first choice institution.
The government further explained that only candidates who meet the minimum admission requirements and score at least 210 in UTME for Engineering courses, or 180 for Arts, Social Sciences and Science courses, will be eligible to print the Screening Test Admission Card and participate in the Academy’s screening test.
Successful applicants admitted into the 78 Regular Course will undergo five years of combined military and academic training as Officer Cadets. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be awarded an Honours Degree—B.Sc., B.Eng. or B.A.—in their respective disciplines and will also receive a Presidential Commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The Delta State Government urged all qualified candidates, particularly those of Delta origin, to apply promptly and seize the opportunity to serve the nation while building a distinguished professional career.
