LAGOS/Nigeria: The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has announced plans to host the fifth edition of its annual Primary School Bible Competition as part of efforts to promote the study of the Scriptures and instill Christian values among young learners.
The competition, scheduled to hold on March 11, will take place at the Salvation Army Auditorium in Onipanu, Lagos, and is expected to bring together pupils from selected primary schools in a contest designed to deepen their understanding of the Bible.
According to the organisation, the initiative forms part of BSN’s broader mission to encourage children to engage with the Word of God while promoting moral values and a culture of disciplined Bible study at an early age.
The society explained that the competition also seeks to revive the culture of reading and studying the Bible among school children while helping to nurture a generation grounded in faith and positive character.
Six schools have been selected to participate in this year’s edition of the competition, with each school presenting two representatives to compete in the quiz.
The participating schools include New Estate Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Elias International Nursery and Primary School, Angels on Mission School, Good Shepherd School, De Future Hope School and God’s Glory Abides School.
Contestants will answer questions drawn from the CEV Illustrated Children’s Bible, a specially designed version of the Scriptures that presents biblical stories in a format suitable for young readers.
The Bible Society of Nigeria is a not-for-profit interdenominational Christian organisation committed to translating the Bible into Nigerian languages, publishing and distributing the Scriptures, and raising funds to support Bible translation and other related projects across the country.
